Sutton Sting received more big news this week when 16 year old Josh Yeardley received the call from an English Premier League team asking if he was available?  Sheffield Scimitars and GB U18 Head Coach Jon Rowbotham wanted a word with the Sting's U18 and ENL D-man about his progress and to invite him to take part in a Scimitars training session ahead of the Scims development game with Team GB U20's next Tuesday at ice Sheffield.  The news was a huge shock for Yeardley who said "I was asked to speak to Mr Rowbotham and when he asked me to report for Scimitars training I couldn't believe it, I think I was in shock!"

Rowbotham said "I've heard many good things about this young man, not just from Sutton but also from Steelers Coach Dave Matsos who had seen Josh play recently.  I know he is working hard with his game and is also helping out with the coaching at Sutton.  All of this is great and shows me that his attitude and work ethic are just what guys like me look for.  He went on "We have a development game next Tueday at Ice Sheffield and I have four positions to fill on the Scimitars rosteras 4 of my players will be representing team GB.  I have offered young Yeardley a chance to play in that game and he will wear the Scimitars colours for the first time, I am sure he will do just fine!"

Josh's dad Mark was proud that his boy has been noticed and said "Josh has been on edge all day, I guess he's just a bit nervous but I know he'll be ok as he trained with these lads for most of the summer.  He played against the Steelers a week or two back so I know he will give a good account of himself"

The Scimitars and TEam GB takes place at Ice Sheffield on Tuesday 10th November, face-off at 7:30pm.  Ticket price is £2.00 for all with no concessions.
