JOINING THE STING IN 2010
Sutton Sting Junior Ice Hockey Club was formed to provide kids with the opportunity to play ice hockey. We play in junior and youth leagues administered by the English Ice Hockey Association (EIHA) . The EIHA age groups are Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18. For the 2010/11 season Sutton Sting will have two teams at each age group from U10 to U16 and thereby provide even more opportunity for kids to experience ice hockey.
We are currently recruiting players for all of our teams:

In order to play in an age group, a player must be under the age limit on 31 December. The current age groups fro the Club training and teams is as follows:-

Club Rules The Club has produced a handbook “Letting Kids Play Hockey” which contains the current rules and codes of conduct applicable to all members of the club including players, parents and officials. This can be can be found on the Publications page which provides important information about standards of conduct required from all members of the Club.
Coaching Our Head Coach is Rob Saunders, who is in charge of all coaches in our system. The Level 2 head team coaches listed below are supported by an ever growing number of parents and older players who are registered as Level 1 Coaches or Managers.
Our current team coaches/managers are:

Training Up A team coach may at his/her discretion issue an invitation via the team manager to a specific player to “train-up”. This means that (say) an U12 player could be given a opportunity to train with the U14 team. The invitation will be considered by the Coach and Manager of the player receiving the invitation before the player is advised. The players' safety will be the primary concern. (Note: Players normally train up one age group. Girls may also train down one age group at the coaches' discretion.) The decision of the Coaching staff is final.
